CUGER Program
Clothing, Uniform, Gear & Equipment
Recycling (CUGER) Program
Do you have an old uniform hanging in the closet, folded in the drawer, or crumpled up in the bottom of your closet? Are you advancing to the next level? Do you have gear you don’t use anymore? If so, you can now recycle your used scout uniforms, clothing and gear by donating it to the Troop 11 Clothing, Uniform, Gear & Equipment Recycling (CUGER) Program!
In keeping with the Boy Scout value of thriftiness, Troop 11 will now have a clothing and equipment-recycling program. Reusing outgrown or unneeded clothing and equipment through the CUGER Program will help to keep the cost of scouting down. It is especially useful to new scouts.
If you have items to contribute to the program, please bring your clean, “gently used” clothing or equipment items to any scout meeting. Please donate only those items that are in good, usable condition. The scoutmasters or committee members will distribute these items to other Troop 11 scouts as needed.
We will collect:
- Adult and youth uniform shirts & troop t-shirts (if you want to keep any of your patches, please remove them)
- Adult and youth uniform pants and shorts, belts, socks, etc.
- Other styles of clothing useful for scouting events – cargo pants and shorts, zip-off pants, lightweight pants for backpacking trips, scout-themed t-shirts, etc.
- Hiking boots/shoes
- Camping equipment, such as tents, mess kits, canteens, flashlights, mosquito netting, sleeping bags, footlockers, backpacks, etc.
